This is the notice for submissions to the next (Spring) SSG Auction, our 71st, which will be held live (but with advance postal bids accepted) at the Annual Conference at Morley Hayes in Derby on 16 April 2023. Those wishing to submit items for the auction are invited to submit information (ONLY) regarding your Lots to the SSG Sales Secretary, Dr. Jacke Phillips, at ssgauction@gmail.com. DO NOT SENT THE LOTS THEMSELVES.
You should include the following information:
1) A description of the content(s), condition, estimated value and reserve price of each Lot. Your information will be quoted verbatim in the auction catalogue.
2) A (preferably) colour scan of your Lot(s). If you have a large quantity of individual items within any single Lot, choose up to three representative items within each Lot as a single image. The obverse and reverse image will both be accepted if both feature important selling points.
Per the recently updated SSG auction rules, no item will be sold at less than your quoted reserve price. Please be aware that the SSG retains a 10% vendor’s premium (commission), should you wish to factor this into your reserve price. Your Lot scans will be forwarded to enquirers on request, and will be uploaded onto the SSG website. You will have received the new updated SSG Auction Rules in previous auction packages but, if you don’t have them, they are also now available on the SSG website
I will inform you of your own Lot numbers when they have been assigned. Please note I will stop at Lot 100, and will let you know if yours cannot be included, so please reply as early as possible. I hope to distribute the catalogue by the beginning of February at the latest, as I will be in Ethiopia and then Sudan after that until 08 March, so I ask for a deadline of 28 JANUARY for your catalogue information and images. Your scans can be sent separately to arrive later, if necessary. Please try to keep the dpi scale and file size only large enough for important details to be clear. I will be able to access the internet whilst away and will always acknowledge receipt.
Do not send your Lots at this time, only the catalogue description and scans. After bidding has closed, I will ask you to send only those Lots that have been sold.
The catalogue (unillustrated) will be sent to you via email as soon as it is ready.
Jacke
