SSG & ESC Conference 14th – 16th April, 2023 at the
Morley Hayes Hotel, Morley, Derbyshire, DE7 6DG.
We have enjoyed fantastic displays, great company and superb hospitality and cuisine. Members from Australia, China, Sweden, Denmark, USA, and of course the U.K. attended.
Richard Stock again presented some wonderful examples from his collection.
Dave Rothery was the winner of the Norton Collier Trophy
Finn Bjerregaard gave a very humorous presentation in his own inimitable style.
Martin Kuriger was the convenor of the Egyptian & Sudanese WWII Censored mail display.
John Gibson shared his collection of 1884/85 General Gordon material.
We have enjoyed presentations and members displays on topics such as:
- Sudan: The 125th Anniversary of the Camel Postman Design.
- The Sudan 1897 provisional overprints on Egyptian stamps.
- Forgeries and fakes of Egyptian and Sudanese stamps and postal history
- Egypt and Sudan censored mail WW1 and WW2 including transit and incoming mail.
- Our annual society Bourse
- Live auction
Today, our last day we are holding our bourse and our regular auction (live).
